First pilot: Sunshine Coast family outings

Plan family days out with less guesswork.

Family Outing Hub is building practical guides for parks, playgrounds, attractions, food, coffee, parking, toilets and rainy-day backups โ€” starting with the Sunshine Coast.

Parent-useful details

Focus on the things families often need before leaving: parking, toilets, shade, seating, food, coffee, pram access and rainy-day backups.

Start local, then scale

The Sunshine Coast pilot tests the pattern first. Future regions may include Gold Coast, Brisbane, Noosa and other family holiday areas if the model proves useful.

Improves with parent tips

Parent-submitted tips help fill practical gaps, but submissions are reviewed before they are used publicly on the site.

Help improve the guide

Visited a park, playground, beach area or attraction recently? Share practical notes about parking, toilets, shade, busy times, pram access, nearby food or rainy-day alternatives.

How tips are used

  • Submissions are not published automatically.
  • Useful observations may be labelled as parent-submitted intel.
  • Children's names, private details and sensitive information should not be submitted.

For local family-friendly businesses

Cafes, attractions, indoor play centres, accommodation providers and kids activity operators can be considered later for clearly labelled listings or sponsorship opportunities. Paid, sponsored or affiliate placements will be labelled.

About this pilot

Family Outing Hub is an independent early-stage pilot. It is not an official council, tourism authority or government website.

The guide may combine official public sources, business information, reviewed parent-submitted tips and clearly labelled estimates. Crowd and parking information will be estimates only unless a live source is explicitly stated.
